Steve earned a BA in Economics, with a Minor in Finance, from the University of South Florida.  His first career was with a medical-surgical product company, Medline Industries, that was expanding rapidly to become the second company in the U.S. with national distribution. Medline took him away from his home in Tampa for 10 years. When an opportunity arose with Thompson McKinnon Securities to move back, he made the change. As a new broker, his immediate realization was the need many investors had for disciplined, objective strategies. Almost simultaneously, he found the mutual fund universe becoming more innovative and flexible.  He formed Bay Capital in 1989, amid the changes in the way mutual funds could be employed. Today there are more mutual funds, ETFs, etc. than individual securities on the exchanges. Steve’s dedication to actively focus on the multitude of investment options available offers individual investors the huge advantages of liquidity, flexibility, with non-correlated strategies and the ability to truly diversify, to achieve strong downside protection along with growth.
